island hair flair

rita hair clip.

leilani hair clip.

sasha hair clip.
i love hair accessories. maybe it's because i can't wear them since my hair is super short. but if i had long locks, i would decorate my dew with flowers (ok, cheesy, but it's the hair envy talking). so i decided to make a few silk flower hair clips embellished with a few swarovski crystals. a little color and romance...and valentines day is just around the corner. big thanks to my dear friend morningstar for being the perfect model. xoxo.

my new favorite necklace....sigh

katie necklace.

i just received this in the mail today from a very talented fellow etsy artist and seller. i was in love with this necklace the first time i viewed the listing and thanks to a few sales of my own (it's so much fun to "pay it forward" etsian-to-etsian), i purchased this lovely necklace for myself. it is so beautifully crafted, thanks geeta!

it made it!

I'm pleased to announce that a recent piece of my pottery has been selected for the Hui No'eau Annual Juried Exhibition 2009.

Maui artists entered 210 pieces of artwork, in all types of media, with 59 being selected for the final exhibit. I'm very pleased, this is the 3rd year in a row having pottery selected. My piece is hand built/coil method, not wheel thrown, burnished and pit fired, no glaze. Size is 6" H x 4" W, without base.

For those of you who live on Maui or visiting soon, I invite you to see the show. It is located at the Hui No'eau, Maui's Visual Arts Center in Makawao. The exhibition dates are January 10 to February 10, 2009.

For more information, see the article published in the Maui Weekly.
